Lew Ranieri spoke at the Mortgage Bankers Association’s 100th Annual Convention on Monday, October 28, 2013 in Washington, DC. In a session entitled Reflections on a Century of Change, Mr. Ranieri discussed the current state of mortgage financing and how housing policy can be designed to expand access to credit and to facilitate opportunities for home ownership.
In a white paper released on October 25, 2013, entitled The Future of Home Finance: Who Will Qualify?, co-authors Lewis Ranieri, Dr. Kenneth T. Rosen, Mark Goldhaber and Andrea Lepcio discuss the implications of legislation designed to address the recent housing crisis and offer policy recommendations with respect to the development of a new mortgage finance system.
Lewis S. Ranieri delivered the keynote address, entitled Why the Status Quo is Unsustainable, at a conference on housing finance reform sponsored by the Bipartisan Policy Center. Mr. Ranieri’s speech addressed a number of issues related to the current mortgage finance system, as well as the future of the securitization market. The conference, held in Washington, DC on June 17, 2013, also featured responses from housing policy experts Mark Calabria of the Cato Institute and Sarah Wartell of the Urban Institute.
Lewis S. Ranieri provided the keynote address at the 18th Annual ABS East 2012 Conference in Miami, FL. In his remarks, Mr. Ranieri discussed the nation’s housing market and the role of the private sector in supporting its long-term recovery.
